Pros: Picture top notch right out of the box. Piano black finish look great in any decor. Sound is above average.
Cons: None so far...perfect
I read many reviews and did as much homework as possible before making this purchase. I am 100% satisfied. Picture is noticeably better than the Sony LCD projection and Toshiba Regza LCD flat panel I have also owned. The pioneer plasma displays are still king in this arena. Anyone who is concerned with picture quality should not hesitate to spend a little extra to get one. With the new generation hitting stores now prices are getting VERY low. I had a wonderful buying experience with Butterfly Photo as well. Top notch operation.

Pros: Excellent picture not only with off-air HD, but with non HD sources IE DVD,VCR,SAT.Price, yes now price!
Cons: Glare, as with all Plasmas -even the "non glare" coated ones
I returned my 43" pioneer after 2.5 years to Costco for a bootup problem. I really wasn't expecting much of an improvement - boy, was I wrong! This one great TV, and for less money. I've had it 4 days only, but have spent lots of time with it -hooking it up to my system and watching. Great picture, better sound, lots of inputs, 3 yr warrany w/ amex, beautiful even when off and cheap - thank you 1080p. I've watched 1080p and it this point in time, find it more hype than substance.

Pros: Picture quality, deepness of color, "optional" speakers that can attach to side of TV, HDMI inputs, tons of inputs.
Cons: Glare, gets hot.
Even though I've only had this TV for a week, it was like night and day from my Sony LCD projection TV. Colors are very deep and intense, great DVD picture, amazing in HD.

Pros: Color richness is otherworldly. 2 year warranty is to me a commitment by the manufacturer.
Cons: Universal remote is expensive and cumbersome. Haven't figured out picture in picture
Overall, the picture quality is so brilliant as to be phenomenal. I paid for professional installation so set up was a breeze. Colors are natural, depth is amazing. I did no comparisons except in store. Needed the wide-viewing angle since TV was placed mid-point along longest wall of room. I would highly recommend.
Pros: Excellent picture quality even when not in high definitionViewable from all angles
Cons: Price...very expensive
We had our TV installed above the fireplace. Even before the cable card was installed the picture quality was great...and even better in high defintion with the card. Set up and installation were done without any problems. Already having a plug above the mantel made it easy and having a gas fireplace made it easy to snake the cable behind the wall of the TV. We were lucky that we installed on a movable wall mount because that gave enough room to reach the cable card slot. If we hadn't done that we were told that the cable company would not remove the TV to install the card so we would have had to have the installation company come back when the cable person was there. So if you don't install on a movable wall mount you want to schedule the cable company to be there at the install. It is also easy to plug in a camcorder on the side of the TV. The TV is easily viewed in many different light settings (including sunny). It can also be viewed from distances up to at least 20 feet and on a diagonal.
Pros: Awesome picture quality
Cons: None
This is no doubt the best 50" 720P plasma TV out there in terms of PQ. Passes all of my video tests. It does have a built in media server menu where you can play video of your media server PC. The beauty of this is that you use the same remote that comes with the TV. This feature is not available in the non elite Pioneer PDP-5070 however. Just another data point for those considering the 5070.

Pros: Accurate colors, you can not see the pixels. Excellent with local channels.
Cons: None yet!
I bought a 46" Samsung LCD. I was so frustrated because of the poor quality of the pictures. Colors were terrible. I exchanged it for a 50" Plasma Elite Pioneer. It was more expensive, but It was worthy. I am deeply satisfied with the investment. Excellent for sports and action movies. Local channels also look very good.
